Let us reflect on where and how we started our journey with the Lord Jesus Christ! Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, said in Joshua 14:6-11 paraphrased: I was forty years old when Moses sent us to spy the land of Canaan. I returned with an honest report and wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God. He went further by saying in verse 11: Today, I am eighty-five years old. I am as strong now as I was forty-five years ago in my faith, warfare, ability to take possession of God’s promises for my life, etc.
Dear reader, are you still as strong now as you were when you first met Jesus? Are you still wholeheartedly committed to Jesus? Is your desire to please him in your conversation, desire for more of him in your life through prayer and fasting, bible studying, meditation, listening and obedience, fellowship, quiet time with him as strong as it was in the beginning? Remember in the book of Luke 9:62, bible says: “ And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom…”. Please let us be strong for God to ensure our fitness for HIS kingdom.
On a final note, if we reflected and cannot speak boldly like Caleb, then we must make conscious effort to step back, through the help of the Holy Spirit, locate where the axe head fell. God said in II Chronicles 15:1-, let not your hand be weak. I am with you as long as you are with me! Whenever you seek me, you will find me. I say to you dear reader, let not your faith, love and commitment to Christ the saviour be weak, no matter what.
Our father and our God, we thank you for this message, may your name be exhorted forever. Bible says in Job 22:29 that “… say to him that is cast down that there is a lifting up” therefore, I pray for lifting and re-charging for as many that has became weak in their spiritual life and faith in the Lord, in Jesus name, Amen.
