How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
Psalmist felt that God was far away, uncaring. Yet he still believed that God’s love was unfailing. At times we too can feel that God is far away, that perhaps he doesn’t care or has forgotten us. Maybe we’ve prayed for a child/husband/wife to be healed, for a new job, for the return of a spouse or for your business to be revived, but God hasn’t answered our prayers as we had hoped. Don’t let your feelings override the truth -That God still loves you and cares for you. Hear what the Lord your God says in Isaiah 49:15-16 “Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Like the Psalmist, I once had a serious health challenge in which the Doctors had made me realize that death was inevitable. I cried to God in that terrible pains for about 2 years with no answer and I felt God was far away; that he had forgotten me. I felt that he hated me and love and care for others more than me. But my feelings weren’t the truth. The full accounts of the illness and my miraculous deliverance at just a step to death is in my Book Titled; THE “HEALING POWER OF GRACE”. It was in that fire that I saw the Lord like Isaiah and there God laid the foundation of the ministry under which I serve today; which I never thought of that; the opportunity to be His battle Axe.
I have met HIM at a very close range not once, not twice. With all confidence I say to you readers; fix your eyes on HIM (The Lord Jesus Christ) and ignore the pains, allow him to set your foundation right and when He is through, He will bring you out from a different point and you will forget all your years of pains and feelings of abandonment. For He says in Psalm 9:18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.
God doesn’t hate you, He doesn’t love your neighbor more than you as we think;your neighbor who you wish to be like is wishing he or she were like you.
God loves you and cares for you. When we cooperate with Him to succeed in fashioning us in His own pleasured pattern, He then kills the lions that are roaring against us and brings honey out of it’s carcass for us to eat and to give to our neighbors as we continue journeying to our heavenly home.
Be of good cheer.
In the next few days, if you are still feeling very low; call a trusted friend who understands your feelings and can also encourage your faith.
– God help me to know that you care for me; don’t let the things I see be more important than the truth, your truth to me.
