11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. – Psalm 16:11
We saw from the previous parts of this topic the advent of Christianity and our Lord Jesus Christ, as its foundation. Christians are those that have accepted Christ as their Lord and master, and have chosen to live their lives following His footpath, and be obedient to His words in season and out of season. The joy of Christians is based on the fact that we have Christ as our Lord and our master. Jesus is the hope for the hopeless and the strong tower that the righteous run into and are saved. His death on the cross redeemed us and enabled us to have access to the Holy Spirit and reconciliation with the Father. Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth to guide us through the path of righteousness. The bible says in our text today that “….in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”.
As true Christians, we are marked by the joy of God that lives in us. The joy in us does not depend on earthly possessions or the physical situation around us. It does not depend on the balance in the bank account, but on the fact that our names are written in the book of life. The Bible says in John 15:10-11 that: “10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Irrespective of situations around us the fact that we have Jesus, our joy will never seize.
Almighty God, we pray for the presence of your spirit in our lives to help us retain your joy in us in Jesus Name, Amen.
